How we use Gmail
If you choose “Connect Gmail”, we ask Google for read-only access to your mailbox. We use it for one purpose only: to find your financial documents and read them to build your Leak Analyser report.
We only search for emails from up to the last 12 months that have a PDF attachment and either come from a financial institution (bank, card issuer, fund house, broker, insurer, lender, payroll provider or tax portal) or have a statement, policy or payslip subject or file name.
From those emails we download only the PDF attachments, and we read the email text only to find the password hint for protected PDFs. We never send, delete or change any email.
Gmail access lasts only while the scan runs. When the scan finishes, we revoke the access and delete the access token. Scanning again asks for your permission again.
You can disconnect Gmail, or delete all your data, from your report at any time.
Google user data
What we access
If you choose “Connect Gmail” in the Fynro Financial Leak Analyser, we request the Google permission gmail.readonly (read-only access to your Gmail) and your Google account email address. We search only for emails from up to the last 12 months that have a PDF attachment and either come from a financial institution (bank, card issuer, fund house, broker, insurer, lender, payroll provider or tax portal) or have a statement, policy or payslip subject or file name.
How we use it
From matching emails we download only the PDF attachments, and we keep the sender’s domain and the subject line with each file. We read the text of a matching email only to find the password hint for a password-protected PDF. The documents are used only to produce your own Leak Analyser report: fees, charges, loans, investments, tax and insurance cover. We never send, modify or delete any email.
How long we keep access
Gmail access is held only while a scan is running. When the scan ends, we revoke the access with Google and delete the access token. You can also disconnect Gmail at any time from your report, which removes every document we fetched from Gmail.
Storage and deletion
Documents are stored encrypted. A readable document is deleted as soon as it has been read. A password-protected document is kept, encrypted, until you unlock it or delete it. The figures extracted from your documents are kept with your report until you delete it. “Delete my data” in the report removes your report, documents and Gmail connection at once. You can also revoke Fynro’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sharing
We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties, except as needed to provide the feature, to comply with law, or with your consent. Our staff do not read it unless you ask for support, it is needed for security, or it is required by law. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models.
Limited Use
Fynro’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
